This session is a part of our 2026-27 Inclusion Community of Practice (CoP) series.

Join us for a practical conversation on how sensory experiences and fine-motor skills affect children’s play, routines, and classroom participation — and what you can do to support these skills.

Noticing sensory needs and how they may show up during play, transitions, and everyday classroom routines.

Supporting fine-motor development through playful experiences such as building, drawing, using tools, and caring for materials.

Making small adaptations to materials, spaces, and routines so children can participate with greater comfort and independence.

Learning alongside an occupational therapist (OT) and fellow preschool staff through shared questions, classroom experiences, and strategies.

Leave with practical ideas to try during the preschool day and a better understanding of when collaboration with an OT may support a child’s access and participation.
